Born in Colorado, Mark was raised and educated in Texas. He received his B.A. from Baylor University and his J.D. from South Texas College of Law, where his exceptional advocacy skills earned him admission to the esteemed Order of the Barristers. After graduating law school in 1990, Mark joined the firm of Tucker Hendryx and Gascoyne, litigating cases for those who had been sued. Mark began practicing plaintiff's personal injury law five years later at Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Matthews & Friend. In 2005, Mark joined Stevenson & Murray, where he continues to devote his practice to protecting the legal rights of those injured through the negligent and willful conduct of others.

Mark's career is replete with accomplishments and honors that few attorneys achieve. Mark was chosen as a Texas Super Lawyer in 2003 and has been selected every year since then by the Texas Monthly Publication. Mark was also named a Houston Top Lawyer by H Texas Magazine, an honor that places him in the top 5% of all lawyers in the State of Texas. A member of the elite American Board of Trial Advocates, Mark was voted into the organization by his colleagues as one of its youngest members. Additionally, Mark's peers gave him the highest peer rating of AV in the Martindale Hubbell Law Directory. Collectively, these tributes reflect the respect that Mark enjoys throughout the legal community.

Mark is also recognized by the state and national licensing authorities as having reached the highest level of expertise in his field of practice. He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is also Board Certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

Driving Mark's talent and reputation is his personal commitment to victim's rights. Mark is a past President of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association, whose mission is to protect, promote and safeguard the rights of people forced to seek redress in law. He is also a Fellow in the Texas Bar Foundation, the largest charitably funded bar foundation in the country dedicated to advancing the justice system for all.

A member of the State Bar of Texas and Houston Bar Association, Mark serves on the Fee Dispute Arbitration Panel and Public Speakers Bureau. In addition, Mark is a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, the Federal and American Bar Associations, the South Texas College of Law Alumni Association (Member, Board of Directors) and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
