John was born in Reading, Pennsylvania in 1962. He graduated in 1984 from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. John earned his J.D. Degree from The University of Texas School of Law in 1991, where he served as a Teaching Quizmaster for two years.

John practiced personal injury law with the late Malcom McGregor in El Paso, Texas for approximately five years. In 1998, he moved to Houston to join John Stevenson in his practice.

Widely recognized for his appellate expertise, John has handled many appeals and original proceedings in both state and federal courts, several of which have resulted in published opinions. He has extensive trial court experience responding to and arguing numerous motions, including special appearances, motions to transfer venue, and summary judgments.

A member of the State Bar of Texas, John is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts in the Southern and Western Districts of Texas. In addition, John is admitted to practice before the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. John and his wife, Cathy, are the parents of three children.
